A quiet day in the village, after I did some cleaning on our back porch, pieces of a smashed strip of sod that had fallen down from our grass roof, and a few remains of a secret sheep visit, frozen droppings, I gave the floor a sweep, because I like to use the planks as some kind of skating rink at this time of the year. Just like yesterday night, when I put on my rubber shoes and slid back and forth, under a world-spanning, star-covered night sky, in a small village, on an island in the middle of the North Atlantic. Wheresoever you are: May the Advent season fill your heart with peace and happiness.
