Faroese meadows, hills and mountain slopes have many looks and colors all throughout the year, green, shiny, mowed, dull, brown, flowing mane, soaking wet, infield, outfield, juicy, unkempt, dry. In terms of November, it’s fair to say that rich tangerine is the most intriguing phenomenon. Orange-red-colored grass: an appearance matching the season, considering that – at this time of the year – people are sitting beside fireplaces and old-timey kitchen stoves, peeling oranges, flames are dancing, orange kelp forests float close to our village, color-coordinated mushrooms grow; to make a long story short: a good deal of tangerine all around. By now, the sheep are back down in the village – grazing, long-haired dots surrounded by tangerine. The picture below features the scenery further up in our sloping valley.
