Great Cloth! We Love Faroese Sheep And Their Fantastic Wool
For a long time I have been reporting for you, telling stories about a remote archipelago in the middle of the North Atlantic. That's why you know that there are more sheep than people in the Faroe Islands. And these sheep have fantastic wool - which we have started to work with. Until recently, the wool was simply thrown away or burned because it is rather complicated to process and the world market wants merino and fleece - and then my husband started criss-crossing the islands and collecting the lanolin-rich, long-maned sheep's wool from our farmer friends. A great thing has come out of this: the Nordic Wool Factory. We just had the photoshoot for our second collection on the islands, which will be launched in the fall. Clothing made sustainably and with love, from woven wool cloth, 100 percent wool from wild and free Faroese sheep. Photographer Sophie Valentin has been taking great shots for the new campaign over the past few days. Not with professional models, but with all the Faroese people and friends who participate in Nordic Wool Factory. She also featured the mastermind: my husband Francesco (main picture ❤️). We are thrilled! You can find our Nordic Wool Factory on Facebook, Instagram and on the web. Here's a taste of what's to come in the fall. It’s not on the Nordic Wool Factory website yet. Enjoy looking at some photos right here.
