Although the Faroe Islands are remote, you never know whom you might meet. One day, we went on a trip with our friend Birgir Enni and his wooden sailing ship Norðlýsið. We were not the only ones on board. When we got close to the island Nólsoy and entered a huge cave with our rubber dinghies, a bunch of musicians came along, including famous country singer-songwriter, author, outdoorsman and producer John Carter Cash.
Being in a Faroese cave is an amazing experience. Right behind the entrance, everything changes. Suddenly, noises and voices sound completely different. From the rocky ceiling, waterfalls pour down, splashing onto the surface of the sea. And the pink, purple and green colored stone walls reflect lights and echos. As I told you: it’s awesome. And even more so with John Carter Cash singing „Folsom Prison Blues“. The video, I took in August 2013, when he visited Faroe Islands. Now I thought it would be nice to share it on my blog. Thank you, John Carter Cash, for giving me permission. And to all readers of my blog: If you ever get the chance to see this great musician and multi-talent on stage, go!
