Sitting in paintings: My marvelous camping chair

Mazuhn April 8, 2016

Following the slogan „Always have coffee at breathtaking places“, I bought a camping chair last year, originally for a trip through the Icelandic highlands. Afterwards, I showed him around his new home – Faroe Islands. One doesn’t need a camping chair to discover the archipelago. But I drive around with my fully foldable chair in my car trunk, anyway …

John Carter Cash and his unique Nólsoy-"Folsom Prison Blues"

Mazuhn January 27, 2016

Although the Faroes are remote, you never know whom you might meet. One day, we went on a trip with our friend Birgir Enni and his sailing ship Norðlýsið. When we got close to the island Nólsoy and entered a huge cave with our rubber dinghies, a bunch of musicians came along, like: John Carter Cash. Video link to grotto concert included …

Here we go, 2016: Gott nýggjár! Happy New Year!

Mazuhn December 31, 2015

Luna, Sára, Zosia, Anni-Kate and Nova, age 4-9 years, show us on Eystnes how to make a good start to a joyful new year. Take a run-up, slide on the ice like a penguin in a captured speedboat and only brake in case of an emergency. There will be ups and downs over the coming months. Love and laughter, thrilling adventures, but also challenges and changes …

Let It Snow! The My Faroe Islands Elduvík-Release

Mazuhn December 23, 2015

Merry Christmas! Oh, the Elduvík-weather is frightful / But the fire is so delightful /And since we've no place to go / Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Season’s greetings from My Faroe Islands, from the small village of Elduvík, my second home in the Faroe Islands. Winter in the Faroes? Love it …

Greetings From The Heart Of Berlin

Mazuhn November 27, 2015

Right before the start of the Advent season, we send warm regards and best wishes to all Faroese and to all our Faroese friends. 20 meters high above the ground and directly in front of Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, today the Faroese flag floated in the wind. With the aid of an hydraulic working platform, we put Merkið in position for this picture …

A Bath In The North Atlantic (Brrr!) And Unexpected Company

Mazuhn November 22, 2015

Summer, sunshine and a sandy beach. I head for a deck chair under palm trees, order a fruit cocktail, throw my arms up in the air and hop joyfully into the water. Pardon me. I’m all mixed up. Must be a consequence of the adrenalin rush. Let’s start again from scratch: A day in November at Tjørnuvík beach. My brain starts to talk comic-tongue. Splash. Ahh! Brrr …

Nightfall Boosts All Colors: A Surreal Scenery In Rituvík

Mazuhn November 9, 2015

Evening. Down at the harbor, a yellowish light brightens the paint finish of two boats. Waves are crashing majestically into the bay. Water rushes ashore, only to rejoin the tremendous sea again shortly after. Nightfall boosts all colors. A surreal scenery, exceptionally beautiful, and a magical moment at the harbor of Rituvík …
