Funny Cottages, Wet Cookies And A Concert With Teitur

Mazuhn October 18, 2015

At present, my car looks as if I’d moved in. Not because I’m a messy person, but rather because I need to be one-hundred percent prepared. Gumboots. Ugg boots. Camera tripod. My new foldable camping chair, with armrests and cupholder. Rubber pants. Lined jacket. Iphone recharger cable. Buff headwear. Faroese sweater. Pocket knife …

Sleepless In Elduvík

Mazuhn October 12, 2015

After ten hours of driving through Germany and Denmark and 35 hours travelling by ferry, this morning I arrived back in the Faroe Islands. For another 45 minutes, I drove from the capital Tórshavn to our village. In some places the only light that I could see was the headlight of my car. I have been driving these roads before, I know my way. Lucky me …

Helicopters, Hot Tubs And A Light Show In A Tunnel

Mazuhn October 6, 2015

Usually, the conversation goes like this. Friend or acquaintance: “You have bought a house in the Faroe Islands? You guys are crazy. Faroe Islands – how do you get there? And how do you get around on site?“ I will tell you. The basics. And insider tips. My personal highlight and favorite means of public transport in the Faroes? The helicopter …

A Sign On Mykines Raises Questions

Mazuhn September 29, 2015

Do you like my picture? I have taken it on Mykines, the westernmost island of the Faroe archipelago. Mykines belongs to the oldest part of Faroe Islands, it was formed about 60 Million years ago, and it is one of the outer islands. The most common method of getting to this remote beauty is to take the ferry …

A Village Full Of Mysteries

Mazuhn September 22, 2015

Strange and mysterious places do exist on our planet, and some of them are definitely located in the Faroe Islands, including the village Gásadalur. The whole place is full of strange energy and mysteries. It almost appears as if the past would rise at any moment …

Confession: “If My Wife Knew …“

Mazuhn September 17, 2015

Even though there is no Mount Everest in the Faroe Islands: The mountains deserve your respect. Once we were sitting around some friend’s kitchen table when a group of Faroese popped in, returning from a hike. I will never forget what one of the guys told me about this particularly dangerous mountain trip …

A Lifestyle Is In Danger

Mazuhn September 10, 2015

In several churches in the Faroe Islands, including Tjørnuvík, Hvannasund and Sandavágur, money has been stolen out of collection boxes. The cases of theft took place in recent weeks. No big deal? Wrong. Incidents like this can change a whole lifestyle. I haven’t met all inhabitants of the Faroes, but I met many. So, what exactly is Faroese lifestyle about? …

Together with her husband, she deeply fell in love with the Faroe Islands, and they bought a house on Eysturoy more than seven years ago – Anja’s second home. Urge to explore. In love with adventures, both on the large and small scale.

Our wool project! Jackets, hoodies …

Jacket.jpeg

Together with some island farmer friends, we have set up a project, the Nordic Wool Factory. Beautiful things made of Faroese sheep’s wool and made for eternity. Jackets, hoodies, blankets, bags and such like.

Faroese sheep’s wool: a precious, renewable, sustainable and natural product, living up to former glory. Check out the German or English version of our Nordic Wool Factory website.

Community, philosophy, resources, design, pictures, sheep, videos, web shop, story. It’s all there. And we ship worldwide.
