Here they are, right in front of me. Two passes for this year’s G! Festival. 14 - 16 July. For three days, the whole village of Syðrugøta will turn into a fantastic, cheerful and hip party.
Sometimes, sounds, places and odors sink deep into your brain – associated with a feeling that makes you smile, every time you recall those memories. Thinking of the G! Festival conjures a smile on my face, again and again. Simply because this open-air event is great fun.
Some of the stages and party-zones are built right on the sandy beach. People jump into hot tubs, others take a bath in the North Atlantic. Don’t be a poor sport! The water – temperature roughly 9 degrees Celsius – might give you a cold shiver. But take a look at the landscape. Mountains dressed up in green, cliffs skirting the coastline, boats gathering together along the waterfront. Music in the air, Eivør on stage. „My faithful friend; Where did you go?; I think I forgot; to let you know; That I am grateful; For all those nights; When we talked about nothing; 'Till the moonlight …“
Music and a magic place connected by the spirt of a unique festival: That’s G!. Enough of words. Let the music play. By now, you should know what to do in July. Some of this year’s acts: Lucy Rose (UK), The Hot 8 Brass Band (US), Steve’n’Seagulls (FI), Federspiel (AU) and Dub Phizix & Strategy (UK). So you better get moving! Order your tickets now. Join the fun. And don’t forget to bring your swimwear.
Happy: our tickets. Below: The G! Festival seen from the seaside. Isn't the scenery fantastic? Take a bath in the North Atlantic or enjoy the catering at the beach. And don't forget to bring your Faroese sweater, rubber boots and a towel ...
